Poor little Bean.
Last night was one of the most stressful and sleepless nights we've had since Bean first came home from the hospital. She was so sick and stuffed up and tired that it took about 2 hours to get her down last night, and then she was up every hour and half to just whimper and cry. I never knew having a sick child would be so darn heart wrenching!
Her fever topped out at 101.5 last night, but she's much cooler this morning. I finally got her down for a nap. Now I have to go try and concentrate on a paper while she sleeps.
Here's hoping little Bean gets better soon.

Our family is hoping that yours is feeling a bit better by now and getting some more sleep. Mercifully colds seem not to drag on too long with babies.
Sciencemama,
I hope your little bean is feeling better now. It's funny that you left a comment on my site--I just stumbled across your blog this weekend (via Sciencewoman's site) and have been meaning to say Hi! Of course, we're probably both struck that we both have daughters named the Bean!
I went back to work as a postdoc in cell biology when my Bean was young, too. The first year is hard, but I promise that it gets better, and you'll reach a point of new balance. (Of course, when you have a second kid that balance gets thrown out the window...)
Best of luck with everything. I look forward to reading more!
