I never understood how profoundly the choice of provider could impact ones birthing experience until I gave birth to Bean. Now the idea of informing and empowering women before and during the birth process is a subject that is near and dear to my heart.
So if you've given birth in the last three years, please go participate in the survey. I think it will be a powerful resource for expectant mothers.

Have you given any thought to what you'd like this birth experience to be like? Will you try for a VBAC? How does not having the birth you wanted for Bean color your views this time around?
Just curious - feel free to ignore if too personal or too early to answer. :)
Went over and did the survey. Some of the questions really reminded me of how lucky I was to have had such a wonderful birth experience. I hope your second pregnancy and birth go smoothly!
Hi ScienceMama- congratulations! I've enjoyed your blog for a while now, and was wondering if you wouldn't mind blogging about how your postdoc advisor has taken the news (if you're shared yet that is), and how you feel about how motherhood is impacting your work. I'm also a postdoc-momma and very much wanting to start round 2, but am really worried about how this would impact work, which has already been so fantastic with maternity leave and childhood illness time off, etc.
Thanks!
I filled out the survey and posted the link to FB. Hope other moms fill it in too. My daughter's birth was good in that she and I came out healthy, but the process left much to be desired. I didn't feel supported by a group of drs who claimed to support non-medicated birth, so I hope that my experience will help other women chose a little better.
At any rate, I liked some of the vadlo researcher cartoons!
Nice story you got here. It would be great to read more about this theme.
By the way look at the design I've made myself Young escort
